This spread is focused on searching for child characters, their movement, mood, and individuality. It brings together different faces, hairstyles, poses, and small narrative hints, while the limited palette of graphite and warm ochre keeps the page visually unified. What matters to me in sketches like these is the chance to find not only an expressive silhouette, but also a vivid and varied presence for the future cast.
